My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Chicken Pot Pie
Because I was a stray kitty found in mid-June, the HSHC staff had to create a name for me. I am a very loveable girl, and who doesn`t love chicken pot pie? But you can call me Chicken. I am 9-years-old, white with black and tan tabby markings, spayed, with impeccable litterbox manners, and a delightful personality. Near the end of July, I moved in with a fantastic foster mom! Just listen to what she says about me--`She is an adorable, cuddly cat who wants to be on my lap or curled up against me all the time. If I cannot cuddle her, she likes to settle down and nap somewhere near me. She loves her fluffy bed and snoozing on blankets. We have a German Shepherd with whom she does well. Our kitten annoys her because he often wants to play and moves too fast for her. She is front declawed, and her hips are painful, so she needs steps or a platform to get anywhere over two feet off the ground.`
I hope to find a loving, compassionate forever owner who knows I deserve happy golden years. I have been diagnosed with Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) and require a prescription diet called K/D to help me avoid too much acid being built up in my body. Keeping me healthy will cost a little more, but I fit the bill if you have been craving a snuggly, sweetheart of a cat to keep you company. 11-11-24

More about this shelter

With an open admission policy, a No-Kill philosophy, and more than 3,100 animals crossing our threshold each year, we have still maintained a 98% placement rate over the last 3 years.

This is an amazing feat for any organization…let alone one that takes in some of the most abused, injured and seriously ill animals imaginable.
