My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Oklahoma Humane Society received seven homeless dogs displaced by Hurricane Francine. The ASPCA transported these dogs to Oklahoma as part of the disaster relief support for animals impacted by the storm and subsequent flooding. All pets were in a shelter and unowned before the storm hit. Potter is one of the seven dogs now available for adoption at the Oklahoma Humane Society.

Meet Potter, a vibrant 1-year-old brindle medium mixed breed pup full of energy and personality! This outgoing boy is always ready for adventure and loves to play, making him the perfect companion for an active family. Potter's friendly nature shines through as he greets everyone with enthusiasm and joy.

While we don't yet know how he would do around cats or children, his sociable demeanor suggests that he could adapt well with proper gradual introductions. If you're looking for a spirited pup who's ready to bring joy and excitement to your life, Potter is the one for you! Come meet this lovable bundle of energy today and see if he's the perfect fit for your family!

I am currently available for adoption, but I'm also in need of a temporary foster home while I wait for my future family. Fostering means providing me with a safe and caring space where I can learn, grow, and share my unique personality while waiting for adoption. The amazing folks at OK Humane will provide all the necessary support, from food and supplies to medical care, while you offer the love, attention, and insights that will help me find the perfect forever family. If you're not ready to commit to adopting, e-mail foster@okhumane.org about fostering me!

Additional adoption info

Adoption Process
We have an open adoption policy, so there is no application or interview process. We simply ask that you meet the pet in person before adoption. We have adoption specialists that will help you find the right pet for your family.

Adoption Center
The Adoption Center is located at 7500 N. Western Ave, Oklahoma City, OK 73116. Our Adoption Center is a totally new concept in Oklahoma City where dogs have comfortable, expanded kennels and cats stay in “living rooms” with furniture and toys.

Pets by Appointment
Some amazing dogs get stressed out in a kennel environment like our Adoption Center, and much prefer staying at their foster home until they find their new family. If you see a dog on our website that says “E-Mail to Meet Me” that means that this furry friend is just a click away from getting a ride to the Adoption Center to meet you in person.

Adoption Fees
Adult dogs are $150 to adopt, puppies are $200 to adopt, adult cats are $75 to adopt and kittens are $95 to adopt. All of our pets are microchipped, spayed or neutered, treated with all age-appropriate vaccinations and flea, tick, and heartworm preventative prior to being cleared for adoption, so we put a lot of effort and monetary investment into each of our animals including a two-week quarantine period in a foster home. These adoption fees help cover the costs of our animals’ health and well-being!
