Meet petite & pretty Chiquita! She was surrendered to the shelter along with her friend, Bruno, on 9/28 because the family stated they were downsizing. We're not exactly sure if that meant downsizing the house and they were moving, or downsizing on the number of animals they had. Anyhow, Chiquita is now hoping for a new, loving forever home! Chiquita's previous family kept her outside, so we'd love for her to experience being part of the family and living inside this time around. She is crate-trained, but will need work on house training. Her previous family did say that she is good with kids and other dogs, which is great news! The shelter staff and volunteers have observed that Chiquita is quite shut down and scared, so she'll need time to adjust and decompress in her new home. Slow and supervised introductions with young kids who don't understand boundaries are a must. Once she gets to know you she loves to be held and snuggled. Because she is so scared she is at risk in the shelter; please come meet her quickly! Could you be her hero?
Chiquita is 7 years old, and she weighs 8 lbs. She is UTD on vaccines, and she will be spayed, microchipped, and heartworm tested upon adoption. Chiquita is waiting in kennel 401; her ID # is 662214.
