My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Location: WV

Molly is a fun loving 16 weeks old puppy, born with 4 siblings who were all living in an outdoor shed in West Virginia. They are now safe with rescue organizations and Molly is ready to find her own family. She is a classic blue heeler with stand up ears, a white star on her head and a fierce, independent and loyal spirit just bursting at the seams. This confident and cuddly lady will keep life active and fun while showing you what it is to have the best friend in the world always at your heels or in your shadow. There are no dogs more loyal than these. She enjoys naps with her head on your legs and pressing up against you when you sleep. She is a charmer.

Molly loves her food (making her very food motivated to help with training), but has quickly learned to gracefully wait her turn for after dinner treats with the three other house dogs. She enjoys her foster moms fenced acre exploring, digging, zooming, chasing, and especially climbing. If there are rocks, she will want to be at the top.

Although in a rural area, she has been introduced to a variety of people, a few children, but no cats. She gets along well with her foster moms 3 dogs who range from 14 pounds to 110 pounds. These dogs are all older (9, 10 and 12) and really do not appreciate her activity levels. She has not been put off by them however and they are all slowly engaging in play with her. She is readily submissive if they complain.

Molly was born on June 3, 2024. She has been dewormed, received her puppy vaccinations, tested negative for heart worm and has been spayed. She will receive her DA2PP booster after 10/16. A crate is used for her feedings only. She is working on house training, pretty consistently sleeps through the night without needing to potty, is learning leash manners and knows sit. Patience and diligence is needed in the car as she does get carsick. Her foster moms cattle dog also was carsick as a pup, grew out of it and loves car rides now.

Molly would be a wonderful addition to any household. She wants to be with her people and looks forward to a forever home.

More about this rescue

We are an all volunteer group that rescues Australian Cattle Dogs. Our dogs reside in foster homes until they are adopted
Every year, thousands of Australian Cattle Dogs find themselves homeless through no fault of their own. Although the reasons are diverse, the result is the same. Healthy, adoptable dogs face euthanasia in shelters.

The Australian Cattle Dog Rescue Association rescues ACDs in shelters from Maine to Georgia and gives these dogs a fresh start with a loving family. Our foster home volunteers welcome the dogs into their homes where they live as members of the family. During the time in foster care, our volunteers determine what kind of forever home will be the right one for each dog.
