My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

𝑀𝒜𝒮𝐼𝐸 - 𝒩𝐸𝒲 𝐻𝒪𝑀𝐸 𝒩𝐸𝐸𝒟𝐸𝒟

Location: Ontario, Canada (near Toronto)
We are looking to get her back state side. Anyone in New England?! Ideally looking for a foster to adopt situation so she doesn’t have to keep adjusting to new homes.

Masie is 2-3 years old. She is fully vetted. She is great with dogs and cats. She loves kids too but recommend older kids as she gets startled easily by raised voices and loud noises and unexpected chaos. She was a stray for a while in Texas and is still blossoming into her “how to be a dog” phase. Per the vet she has a cartilage issue in both eyes and just requires some eye drops.

Maisie can't be left unattended during the day, as she has a mischievous streak that leads to destructive behaviors, counter surfing, and trash diving antics. After all she's been through, being without her people makes Maisie anxious, and settling down on her own can be challenging. Thankfully, she's kennel trained and potty trained, making her no problem to manage in a crate when her humans are away. She will howl her songs for a few minutes then settle down.

When it comes to energy levels, she is a delightful mix of mellow couch potato and playful pup. She loves lounging indoors, but don’t get too comfortable because she also enjoys getting her zoomies on outside.

While Maisie will need work on obedience training, she's very eager to please. She walks fairly well on a leash with minimal pulling and is always ready to explore the great outdoors. She also manages car rides with grace and poise... as long as she can rest her head near her favorite human! She loves both men and women. She adores attention and will beg for you to pet her all of the time.

With some patience and love and reassurance Maisie will settle into her new family in no time. Please message or comment any questions! We are looking for a foster to adopt if possible.

More about this rescue

To rescue Great Danes from neglect, abuse, and abandonment while providing medical care and individual rehabilitation through our experienced and loving foster home program until we are able to provide each rescued Dane with a qualified, caring, and permanent home that will ensure a good quality of life they deserve.

To assist owners that cannot afford spaying, neutering or heartworm treatment as funds allow while also educating owners on affordable, local spay/neuter clinics, spay/neuter benefits, vaccinations, backyard breeding, behavior, nutrition, and obedience. Additionally, we want to be a link point to other rescues and clubs. Raising awareness around rescues and the Great Dane breed is of great importance to us.

We have been rescuing Great Danes since 2011 and we take pride in the collective love, concern, and dedication we have given to the misunderstood and forgotten Danes. It is our mission to continue to be the voices of the less fortunate Danes and to provide them safety and their birthright to a quality of life filled with love and dignity. You can help us achieve our mission by donating funds, items from our wishlist, items of relevance, your time through volunteering, or by lending your home as a foster.
