My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

This beautiful lady is named Claire. Claire is beloved by so many of us here at the rescue, and we know you’ll love her too. She’s a social butterfly with dogs and humans alike. She’s easy on leash and cat tolerant. She loves treats, swimming and booty scritches!

We think Claire is a pit bull mix of some sort, with all of the booty wiggles and big kisses to corroborate her pittie lineage. We estimate her age to be around 2 years old. She currently weighs in at a snuggly 66 pounds!

Claire is a love bug, through and through. Here at the rescue, she can often be found soaking up the affections of a staff member or volunteer. With new people, she gets excited to meet and greet, and then gets low to the ground to accept pets. With her favorites, she immediately rolls over to ask for belly rubs. She’s a kisser and a total cutie about her affection, not overly pushy, and very polite.

Claire is great on leash too! Between her sociability and her leash skills, she would be a great dog to take out and about. Take Claire to your favorite patio restaurant and watch her steal hearts. Claire is good and quiet in her crate here at the rescue, and very much sees her crate as her little “safe space.” She doesn’t have indoor accidents either, she is such a good girl!

Claire is dog friendly! She has a wonderful rough and rowdy play-style that seems to always win her new canine friends. She’s the life of the doggy party, always up for a game of chase. She adores other dogs, and greets each new dog she encounters with tail wags and kisses.

Here at the rescue, Claire has been cat tested. She was not overly interested or fixated on our house cat Tom, so we say she’s cat tolerant. She could likely live with dog savvy kitties. See her cat test for yourself in her video!

Claire’s perfect home will have at least one loving human to call her own, and she’s not too picky about the rest. Claire would love another moderately playful dog to keep her company, but she could thrive as a solo dog as well. Knowing Claire, it will surely be love at first sight for her when she meets her forever family.

Claire is a gorgeous, loving girl with a truly beautiful life ahead of her. With any questions, please reach out to her adoption coordinator, whose email is linked below. We are willing to test Claire with anything you need us to in order to ensure she’s the perfect match for you! We can make most anything happen! Just let us know.

Why adopt from Three Little Pitties?

The stray and animal overpopulation in the Greater Houston area is the highest in the nation. Statistics show that there are over 1 million homeless animals in this region alone. Three Little Pitties Rescue is a nonprofit dog and cat rescue that partners with the community to make a difference. Our mission is to reduce the homeless pet population through community outreach, free spay and neuter services, and saving all breeds of dogs and cats from the streets or animal shelters that oftentimes have no other option but to euthanize animals for space. This dog you’ve found online is lucky to be in our program, and even luckier to have you notice it!

Three Little Pitties wants to set you and your new pet up for success! We know our dogs and we work hard to prepare them socially for adoption. We are a network of dedicated people who are heavily invested in seeing our animals thrive. From the moment they are accepted into our program, our Intake, Behavior & Medical teams prepare them for adoption by properly vetting, behaviorally assessing, and providing customized plans depending on the dog’s needs. We seek to adopt to families who understand that these are rescue dogs and will require continued training efforts, but will be well on their way to being the best dogs that they can be!

It doesn’t stop there! Our adopters also receive these special perks:

• 30 day trial of pet insurance with Trupanion (must register within 24 hours of first vet appt.)
• A free private online dog training session with GoodPup plus low pricing for future sessions (approx $25 weekly for an 8 week course of one session per week)
• One free bonus toy in every BarkBox when signing up for their Super Chewer subscription plan
• 70% off of your first order of Fetch, a PNW based, organic fresh dog food loaf meal subscription plan
• Coupons for a fun visit to Petco
• Access to our exclusive FB Adopters page, where you can network for play dates, resources, and connect with other adopters that share their passion for their adopted pup!

We celebrated our 5 year anniversary this year! Through the combined efforts of all of our hardworking staff and volunteers, we have placed over 12,000 very lucky dogs and cats into amazing homes! By adopting from us, you save TWO lives! The pet you adopt, and you create an opportunity for another animal to be saved in that spot. Together, we can be heroes.
