My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Dolce, a 4.5-month-old Malinois/Husky mix with striking fawn fur with black accents and big, pointy ears that are absolutely irresistible! At just 22 pounds, this agile and intelligent little lady is ready to find her forever home where she can grow into the loyal companion she was born to be.

Dolce is a work-in-progress with her training, and while she’s about 85% house-trained, she will thrive with continued guidance and structure. Her new family should be prepared to help her brush up on her obedience skills, but with her sharp mind and eagerness to please, she’s sure to catch on quickly. Dolce will benefit from a home where her moderate exercise needs can be met—she loves a good run around a safe, fenced yard where she can burn off her energy.

Dolce can be a bit shy and cautious around new people, so she’ll need time to adjust in a quiet home that will give her the patience she needs to build confidence. While she gets along with other dogs, she may take her time warming up to them, so a calm introduction will be key. As for other animals, her temperament toward them is still a mystery—so best to play it safe and not assume she’s ready to share her space with them just yet.

Dolce is a smart cookie with a heart full of potential. With the right training, patience, and love, she’ll grow into an extraordinary and loyal companion. If you're an active, patient family with a secure, fenced yard where Dolce can explore and play, she might just be the perfect match for you!

Apply to adopt Dolce today and give this sweet girl the loving home she deserves!

More about this rescue

Needy Paws Rescue, located in St. Louis, MO, is devoted to saving animals in need, whose lives are in danger at high kill animal shelters & animal controls, those who are strays, have been abandoned or whose family has faced an extreme emergency, regardless of their size or breed.

Our organization is made up of Volunteers who have been involved in various animal rescues in the St. Louis area and we plan to use our knowledge & experience to make a difference. We believe spaying & neutering is a very important step in keeping pets healthy & happy, plus it helps decrease overpopulation. All of our rescued animals will be spayed or neutered, they will be microchipped to ensure they are identifiable if lost or stolen and they will be current on all of their vaccinations before going to their Forever Homes.

We are foster-based and all pets stay in approved Foster Homes that have passed inspections, reference checks and are qualified to take care of our rescued animals while they wait for their Forever Family. We are dedicated to finding the best Forever Homes, and will be making home visits and conducting veterinarian checks & reference checks to ensure the pets will have a safe, loving, happy home. Forever Families will be taught how to care for their pet and learn how to get the most out of their relationship with their new family member. We also have an after-care specialist who will be in contact with the families after the adoption to see how well they're doing together
