Looking for a fun-loving, energetic, and affectionate pup to join your family? Sweetpea is here to steal your heart! This silly little bundle of joy thrives on companionship, car rides, and play. She loves long walks, belly rubs, is a tug-of-war champion, and could chase after toys for hours in a game of fetch. Sweetpea's already a smart cookie, too! She knows how to sit, stay, and come on command, showing off her impressive puppy smarts. She's also begun crate training and is doing well overnight, especially when her crate is in the same room as her favorite person. This is a puppy that just wants to be close to her humans!
While Sweetpea's playful spirit is always ready for action, she's also working on building confidence in social settings. She takes a little bit to warm up to new people, but once she does, her sweet, affectionate nature shines. With a little tender love and care, (and plenty of treats!), Sweetpea will soon find her courage, as she learns that humans aren't so scary!

The Roanoke Valley SPCA offers adoptions by appointments Tuesday - Saturday between Noon and 7pm. Appointments can be made by calling 540-339-9247. Walk-in's will be offered the next available appointment. Pets are adopted on a first come basis. Unfortunately, we are unable to hold pets nor guarantee a pet will be available at the time of your appointment, but we do promise to call you if a pet is adopted prior to your appointment.
The Roanoke Valley SPCA has embraced Fear Free Shelters philosophy and are committed to giving each pet in our care a fear free experience while looking for their forever homes. The Fear Free® philosophy is designed to reduce the negative emotional states that are commonly experienced by shelter animals, including fear, anxiety, stress, and frustration. Adopters must be 18 years of age or older and provide the Roanoke Valley SPCA with photo identification showing current address. Adoption fees may be paid in cash, debit or credit card (VISA or MasterCard). All pets available for adoption have been examined by our staff veterinarian and treated for any health issues. They have been tested for canine/feline diseases, spayed or neutered, received routine vaccinations (including rabies), been microchipped, and have received a heavy dose of love and attention from all of our staff and volunteers. The main requirement for adoption is that the adopter understand and fully make a life-time commitment to the animal of their choice.
