My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

R 92D, L 75413

Hi, I'm Benny and I love people! I want to be everywhere that my foster mom is, including the kitchen, laundry room and the bathroom! I also love pets and kisses and keeping my foster mom within eyesight. I have a sweet disposition. I have a tendency to follow my foster mom everywhere. I also have a tendency to do a little quiet "knitting" or "chatter" with my teeth when I'm content or when my foster mom is giving me love. I also have a tendency to be in the foot path that my foster mom is going - she pretty much always has to walk around me because I have that knack of being in the way.
I am friendly, loving and a goofball. I get along with everyone! I never met a stranger. I get along with my two foster greyhound siblings and I really like my foster greyhound brother, but sometimes the feeling isn't always mutual! Lol!
I am starting to play with toys a little but they are not my main focus right now. I am good in the kennel.  If I had my choice, I'd rather not be in there but when my mom puts me in the kennel, I don't refuse and I'm a gentleman. I would rather not be too far from people. My mom will go out in the garage for a quick second and I start to whine because I miss her. I need some basic obedience as I'm just a pup, but I'm doing better.  I don't know what personal space is, so I need to learn more about that too. My foster says I am very sweet, very loving, and I'm also very inquisitive and I need to know what people are doing at all times.

Personality Traits: laid back, social, cuddly, playful, velcro dog, energetic, goofy

More about this rescue

We are the Minnesota chapter of Greyhound Pets of America.

Greyhound Pets of America is a tax-exempt, non-profit corporation founded in 1987 for the purpose of finding homes for ex-racing greyhounds and educating the public on the suitability and availability of greyhounds as pets.

All of our greyhounds go into foster homes where they can acclimate to their new lives as retired racers. We also get a better idea of their personalities so we can make the best possible match with their new family.

We have found great success in matching the personalities of the greyhounds with the personalities of the new families. We test all our greyhounds to see if they can live with small animals and many of our greyhounds go on to live in families with other pets, including cats.

Greyhound Pets of America - Minnesota is run entirely by volunteers who dedicate their time and talents to the cause of rescuing retired greyhounds. GPA-MN and our volunteers are committed to making sure all our greyhounds have a happy, safe and long life while in our care as well as after they find their forever homes.

If you're planning to get a dog, we hope you will consider adopting one of our retired racers!
