My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Eliza Jane is a resilient and loving dog who was discovered during an evacuation in southern Louisiana, rescued from a heartbreaking hoarding situation. Despite her tough beginnings, Eliza Jane has made incredible progress since arriving at Helping Paws. She’s still adjusting to life on a leash but is doing well and showing improvement every day. While Eliza Jane now understands that potty time happens outside, she’ll need some additional training, as her previous environment didn’t provide her with structure.

This sweet girl adores being snuggled by staff and volunteers, and though she may be a little shy at first, once she feels safe, she’ll become your loyal and affectionate best friend. Eliza Jane is looking for a patient family who can help her continue on her journey of growth and trust, and in return, she’ll fill their home with endless love.
