My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Today, we welcomed a 10-year-old dog named Batman, who has lived his entire life with his owner. Unfortunately, he was brought in by a family member as his owner is currently battling cancer and is in the hospital. Batman, a Lab-Catahoula-Husky mix, was trembling like a leaf, clearly confused and scared by the barking dogs around him. Seeing his fear brought tears to our eyes.

Batman is neutered, and though his vaccine status is currently unknown, we will be taking him to the vet for a full check-up soon. There’s no judgment toward his owner or family—we’re just grateful we can help. If you’re looking for a senior dog who’s friendly with other dogs and kitties and is potty trained, please reach out. We’d love to find Batman a loving home or foster situation, as the shelter environment is overwhelming for him.

Due to the current situation we are no longer allowing casual visits to the shelter. You will need to submit an application with the name of the dog or cat you are interested in adopting via email. Please visit our website www.petsaversshreveport.org to download an adoption application. Applications can be emailed back to us at petsavers@petsaversshreveport.org

Adoption fees for dogs range from $100-$250. All pets come fully vetted (spayed/neutered, vaccinated, heartworm tested (for dogs).

The shelter is open seven days a week from 12pm to 4pm
Casual visits are no longer allowed. You will need to submit an application via email with the name of the dog or cat you are interested in adopting.

Monthly Events:
Petsmart Adoption Days have been suspended until further notice.

Every 3rd & 4th Saturday of the month from 11am to 3pm

Pet Savers is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization, founded in 2005 and located in Northwest Louisiana. Our mission is to rescue, protect, and place abandoned or unwanted pets and provide funds for neutering, spaying, and other veterinary care.

Our precious rescues are cared for 7 days a week, 365 days a year by a special group of dedicated staff and volunteers.
