My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Piper!

This sweet, playful girl loves absolutely everything, but most of all - DOGS! Piper loves being outside, playing in the yard, wrestling and chasing her foster siblings and enjoying the fresh air. She also seems to like water.

Piper is a roughly 11 month old Poodle mix (maybe schnauzer/poodle?) who was once tied to the shelter fence overnight and abandoned. She's affectionate, aims to please and is very food motivated. She's about 50lbs now, but is growing like a weed and has super long legs. She has stick straight hair and a very low maintenance coat that barely grows. She is submissive with other dogs and they can steal bones or toys right out of her mouth, she truly doesn't have a mean bone in her body.

However, she is nervous in public places and needs help with that. She just needs more socialization in the outside world and to go places more often. Piper is housetrained, sleeps in a crate every night and an easy houseguest. She would do best in a home with a fenced yard and another young-ish playful dog.

She is spayed, vaccinated, microchipped and heartworm negative. She is in Tampa and her adoption fee is $300.

More about this rescue

We are a non-breed specific dog rescue group, although we do tend to take in mostly large and extra-large breeds, and especially those in the hunting / sporting groups.

Love for Paws exists to protect and advocate for dogs in our community through responsible adoption, the donation of supplies and veterinary care to those in need, by assisting in the effort to limit the overpopulation of these animals and by promoting kindness and healthy opportunity for life.
