My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Rusty!

This sweet medium sized boy recently found himself as a stray that sadly no one was looking for A group of good samaritans were determined to save him and did! Thankfully, one of our amazing foster homes agreed to take him in and we were able to welcome him into our rescue.

His foster mom says that he is a happy, energetic and extremely curious young boy He is a social butterfly that likes to meet new people and dogs (even cats ) although he needs to learn that not all cats want to play He's in a foster home with 3 male dogs and a few cats and does great with them.

Rusty LOVES exploring the backyard and squeaky toys are his favorite He is working on leash training each day, which is all new to him, but he also has a few commands such as "no and "sit down pat - he's a fast learner. He would do best with another dog in the home and without small children who could let him out a door or spook him. But he will happily be you and your dog's best friend!

Rusty is only about 40lbs, 1-2 years old and is both house and crate trained. He is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped and HW-. His adoption fee is $300 and he is in St. Petersburg.

More about this rescue

We are a non-breed specific dog rescue group, although we do tend to take in mostly large and extra-large breeds, and especially those in the hunting / sporting groups.

Love for Paws exists to protect and advocate for dogs in our community through responsible adoption, the donation of supplies and veterinary care to those in need, by assisting in the effort to limit the overpopulation of these animals and by promoting kindness and healthy opportunity for life.
