Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Chandler came to us earlier this year when he was just about 8 weeks old. He was in an adoptive home for a few months, however he is now back in our care and looking for a fur-ever home! As a puppy he was great with people, super food motivated, house trained very easily, very appropriate with other dogs, and very mouthy when he gets excited.
Since then, other than his size, not much has changed!
He is still a very loving and kind boy. He gets very excited and has a lot of energy to burn! He loves attention from people as well as other dogs. He does need help with some separation anxiety, he finds it hard to be left alone and can break out of wire or weaker construction crates.
He is highly food motivated and will work for the treats, this makes training a lot easier! For someone who has experience training dogs, he will pick up on behaviors and tricks very easily.
NEW! Notes from his foster!:
Highlights:
- Very intelligent, trainable, and athletic – the ideal companion for an active family or someone interested in obedience/agility sports.
- Already knows a lot of commands, and learns new ones quickly.
- Good leash manners and cares more about his handler than anything else going on. No reactivity to passing dogs.
- Good social skills when meeting other dogs & playing.
- Good with people. No issues introducing him to anyone.
- Loves to cuddle and has the SOFTEST fur.
- Quiet in the car, doesn't get car sick.
- House trained and can use a doggie door.
- Super loyal. Always likes to have his family in sight.
- Hasn't shown any resource guarding towards people or dogs.
- Doesn't counter surf; has good house manners once you establish the rules.
Working on:
- Still some mouthiness when he gets excited, but it's getting better each day. He understands "no".
- Separation anxiety. Not happy to be home alone and will destroy a metal crate to get out.
