My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Please meet the playful but patient, purr machine, cuddle master extraordinaire, Balou the cat. Just don’t tell her that, I’m pretty sure she thinks she’s a dog.

Balou has been an absolute treat to foster. If it wasn’t for having a very possessive and grumpy Weiner dog living here we would keep her. Alas, seniority wins so we have to find this sweet baby a forever home. She gets along great with small dogs, loves people and has the fur of a baby bunny. If you’re looking for a fuzzy lap cat that loves tv as much as you do, Balou is your girl!

The process is quite simple! Please stop by and see for yourself. All animals are spayed/neutered, dewormed, vaccinated, and microchipped prior to going home.

Sunday: 10:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.

More about this shelter

We are a non-profit open intake shelter that serves all of East Baton Rouge parish. We strive to improve the lives of abandoned, unwanted and abused animals in our parish. We house approximately 400 animals at any given time. We take in 20-30 new animals a day. We are always in need of fosters both short and long term, donations, and volunteers.
