My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Paisley needs an adopter who will love her unconditionally. This girl is the ultimate snuggle bug. She is desperate to please her people, and wants to win you over with affection every chance she gets.

Paisley is a pint-sized pittie mix, who is very timid and submissive. Since arriving at the pound in July, she has slowly grown more comfortable but she is going to need an adopter who can continue building trust with her. We are unsure of abuse in her past, but Paisley will make herself as small as possible around people. She flattens herself onto the floor like a pancake and will urinate when she’s feeling unsure of herself.

Paisley did a brief trial adoption a while back but was returned due to not being housebroken and they did not have the time. We are unsure if this was submissive urination or if she actually needs to work on house training.

Paisley is truly an amazing companion and she loves playing with other dogs through the fence, and we’d love to do meet and greets! Help us find Paisley’s new family!

Additional adoption info

The Marion County Dog Pound is now under the control of the Marion County Sheriff's Office and is located at 2252 Richland Road. We are required by law to hold a dog for 3 days to allow the owner to claim the dog. If it is not claimed, it will then be an adoptable dog. We will post all adoptable dogs on our Facebook page along with pictures. The adoption fee is $123.00 which includes the spay/neuter surgery, Heartworm tes, rabies, Intra-trac, and Dapp Vaccines, and a dog tag. We are a rescue friendly facility and do not charge a pull fee, rescues are more than welcome to make a donation when pulling a vetted dog but it is not required.

Dogs are as is. There are no health guarantees
Adopters are required to sign an agreement to spay/neuter the dog if not already done, the dog may be seized if any portion of the adoption contract is broken.

More about this shelter

The Marion County Dog Pound is a county facility that is ran by the Marion County Sheriff's Office, we respond to stray/loose dogs and Humane cases, bringing in several dogs a week. Since the Sheriff's Office took over, we have became classified as a no-kill facility only euthanizing for sickness and aggression. We are doing our best to maintain a no-kill environment and are working diligently to help and re-home every dog that comes through our doors. To do this we need the help of our community. Volunteers are welcome to come out at any time!
