MEET MONTEKA - Beautiful Senior Sweetie - Watch her videos!

Monteka lost her home when her owner passed away. Since she`s been with us, she`s gotten a lot of TLC from staff and volunteers, which Monteka seems to appreciate. Monteka has been a quiet, easy kitty here - she likes to have some stinky canned food for a snack, she loves a romp in catnip, she likes to be brushed, and she likes to snooze - very low maintenance! She would like to be the only pet in her home. Monteka had dental surgery here at the shelter, so she`s feeling a whole lot better than when she first arrived and needed dental care. If you`re thinking of adopting a senior kitty who will be low-key, pleasant, but still perky! company - come to to Dedham and meet this lovely cat.

Monteka is currently up to date on all vaccinations, has been spayed/neutered, microchipped and seen by our vet team.

The Animal Rescue League of Boston is committed to matching adoptable animals with a permanent home. Our conversation-based, application-free adoption process is designed so that the needs of both the animal and the adopter are understood and compatible with one another. We require the following as part of the adoption process:
* Adopter must be 18 years of age or older
* A current government-issued ID (no student IDs)
* Have a conversation with an ARL adoption counselor
* A photo of the cage your pet will live in, if adopting a small animal or bird

Situated 10 miles southwest of Boston on the beautiful grounds of the former summer sanctuary for the city’s working horses, ARL’s newly remodeled shelter in Dedham, Massachusetts is just a glimpse into ARL’s bold future. The new modern shelter design allows us to provide even more animals with high-quality direct animal care that meets best-practice standards in animal welfare.

The 27-acre property serves as ARL’s main livestock center and is home to Pine Ridge Pet Cemetery, the oldest continuously operated pet cemetery by a humane society in the United States.
