A WONDERFUL YOUNG PUP: Approx. 9 – 10 months old / Approx. 46 lbs. & growing
Hi, my name is Taffy! I had a home, but my owner simply did not have the time to devote to me that I deserved, so I made my way to Mostly Mutts to find a new family to love and be loved by. I’m soaking up all the attention from the volunteers at the shelter and can’t wait to do the same with my new family! I got to spend some time in the prison/foster training program and had fun as well as learned a lot!
• OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS: I met dogs at Mostly Mutts and in the prison/foster training program and I liked them, so if you have a nice doggy at home who would enjoy a friend, let’s meet! My trainer reports that when I’m finished playing, I’ll just flop over while the other dog continues to try and play – so funny! / Cats unknown. / I met kids at Mostly Mutts that were around 10 years old, and I liked them! I was interested in grabbing their feet when they ran though, so I’m working on that. If you have kids around 10 and up, let’s meet and best no toddlers or very young kids.
• PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL: I’m a super friendly and fun pup with a sweet personality. A typical pup, I am playful and fun. The volunteers who care for me describe me as ‘the most delightful, sweet girl with a happy energy’. A true lap dog, my affectionate nature, will surely bring lots of joy to a lucky family! / My energy level is 4-6.
• SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY: I’m in the Mostly Mutts University training program now and have mastered the ‘sit’, ‘down’, ‘come’, ‘leave it’, ‘drop it’ and ‘place’ commands. I also use proper door etiquette and accept friendly strangers without jumping on them, though I occasionally get puppy mouthy when I’m meeting new people, but not at all in a mean way – my trainer says it’s all puppy! I did get a volunteer’s hand in my mouth, but again it was all in play. I’m working on my leash manners as my trainer reports that I’m a lazy walker and when I’m done, I’m done, though I do still pull at times. We are trying the ‘WE’ leash to help me with that, for now, kids should not walk me though. / My potty manners have improved, and I think keeping me on a good schedule is key! I did have occasional overnight accidents in the prison/foster training program. Please continue to be consistent with me on a good schedule, so I can master my potty skills.
• LIKES/DISLIKES: I love to spend time playing with the volunteers and trainers – readily giving and receiving affection and kisses. I like toys too, but I haven’t tugged on them – I tend to just drop them if you want them. / I can’t think of any dislikes, though I’m sure I wouldn’t like it if I didn’t get enough love, attention, exercise, and training.
• MEDICAL: I'm current on vaccinations, micro-chipped and spayed.
I am looking for a great home with a loving family for life! My adoption fee is $299.00, and I’m located in Kennesaw, Ga.
