Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
If you see pets listed by a private owner, it means that they’re adoptable through Adopt a Pet’s Rehome program – the safe and reliable way to find a loving new home for your pet.
I am currently caring for this sweet stray cat, Bella, (she's about 3-4 years old), whom we were in the process of bringing into our home. After her first vet visit, we learned she has FeLV. Since we already have 2 cats at home who could be at risk of exposure, we cannot keep her long-term. Despite her diagnosis, she is currently healthy, happy, and showing no signs of pain. She is sweet, playful, potty-trained, and well-mannered.
The vet provided us with two options: euthanasia or finding her a home where she can be the only cat. It breaks my heart to think of losing her this way.
I hope to find someone who is looking to adopt a FeLV-positive cat (preferably a single cat home or a home that has another postive kitty so they can have a friend!)
There is no reason she should be routinely euthanized when she is healthy; with proper medical care, FeLV-positive cats can live happy, fulfilling lives.
