Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
I'm a friendly lab mix puppy. I am a typical puppy who loves to play and I walk great on a leash. I get along well with everyone I meet. I am doing super fantastic with my house training. I love sleeping with my human in bed at night!
I'm very well behaved and don't get into anything I'm not supposed to.
I love other dogs, I just need a small amount of time to get to know you because I can be a little shy.
UPDATE from the foster: Cope is going to need a lot of time, love and patience to come out of his shell. He'd do well with a person who is mostly home and/or a home with another dog companion. He loves being outside (never wants to come in) so a person who loves being outside and/or who lives in the country or suburb would be awesome for him. I took him on a walk in downtown Wayzata once and he was so wary of cars and people. He just couldn't relax with everything going on around him. I truly believe he needs companionship to help ease his anxiety and fears. If his human is not home most of the day, he would benefit from the presence of another canine that can show him how to be a dog. He trusts me but not like my resident dog trusts me. Example: I can get close to Cope and give him kisses, he follows me all day and sleeps at my feet while I work at the computer. If left alone, I can picture him curled up somewhere, waiting for his human to come home while he listens to every crack or noise, wondering if it's good or bad. I don't know Cope's history but I feel he may have been a stray with his brother and maybe had a bad experience with men (he steers clear of my husband and is better around women). I hope you're his special person!

More about this rescue
The Bond Between is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization that focuses on the bond between humans and animals. We were founded in 2009 as Secondhand Hounds. Since then, we have rescued over 29,000 dogs and cats with the help of thousands of fosters, volunteers, and supporters in our community. Our organization has grown from a rescue to a first-in-its-class animal wellbeing organization... now The Bond Between! We continue to provide safe shelter, proper veterinary care, and daily necessities for animals while working hard to help them build a bond with humans. We also focus on supporting the bonds that already exist between people and pets with our pet food shelf, respite foster care program, and focus on social services.
We wake up every morning saying YES to connecting people and animals, caring for them, and helping them fill each other’s hearts.
You can help support us today by donating, fostering, volunteering, or sharing The Bond Between.
