Meet Santiago, a resilient 6-year-old Pit Bull mix with a heart full of love. Found by Saint Peters Animal Control on September 13, 2024, Santiago`s story began when he was discovered tied to a pole under a carport at an apartment complex. No one knew where he came from, and he had been there for at least an hour with a red harness and black leash. He was in rough shape and wouldn`t let anyone touch his back, so they had to cut the leash.
Despite his tough start, PAC is dedicated to helping Santiago heal and feel better. After some much-needed decompression, Santiago is now eager to give and receive love. He`s on a special diet to help with his skin and ear issues, which may be lifelong, but that doesn`t dampen his spirit.
Santiago is ready to find a forever home where he can shower his new family with affection and be cherished in return. Please give this sweet boy a chance to show you just how much love he has to offer!
Santiago seems to do well with cats. He was walked into the cat room and went up to a feral cat that started to low growl. Santiago immediately backed away and would not go back by the cat again.
Santiago also seems to do well with other dogs. When tested with Milly, he was super eager to meet her and followed her around the yard. After a while of sniffing, they coexisted well together.
