For Adopt a Pet and the PEDIGREE® brand, October is all about finding homes for dogs in shelters. Adopt this month for a PEDIGREE® Wet Food Pouch and a chance to win a Homecoming-style photo shoot and shelter donation.
Awww, just look at this cute ‘lil scruff-monster! Kodiak is a 2-year old, 42-pound Terrier mix who is housebroken, crate trained, and absolutely loves going for walks and car rides! Wanna run some errands? Kodiak will gleefully hop right into the passenger seat!
Highly affectionate, Kodiak is full of cuddles and loves to be pet. Active toddlers and unfamiliar dogs make him kinda nervous, but he’s a gem in the company of adults, mature children over the age of 5, and dogs to whom he’s been properly introduced. Kodiak adores being with his people and will follow their lead, whether that means quietly hanging out at home watching TV, or leaving the house and going on an outdoor adventure.
Kodiak doesn’t show much interest in toys, but is always ready for a head massage, a belly rub, or some gentle ear scratches. He gobbles up treats like nobody’s business and responds to the commands sit, come, leave it, wait, and no. Once Kodiak makes a pooch pal, he enjoys doggy playtime, and his interactions are relaxed, calm, and happy. He listens attentively, he’s super easy to be with, and is an overall low energy sort of fella.
Adaptable and sweet, Kodiak is the type of dog who can live in either a small apartment in the city or a big house in the suburbs. He is 100% non-destructive in the home, he does not chew on objects or steal shoes, and he sleeps through the night like a dreamboat. It doesn’t take much to please Kodiak, and he will seamlessly fit into a variety of lifestyles. All he asks for is a loving home where he can thrive and be his best self, and for that, he will give you the world.

PupStarz Rescue is an animal welfare group committed to the rescue and rehabilitation of dogs and cats in public shelters at high risk of euthanasia, as well as those in danger of abuse. We are committed to rescuing as many animals as possible, saving over 2,600 dogs and cats since 2015.
PupStarz Rescue is a foster-based rescue, relying on fosters to open their homes and lives to our Animals. Animals in our care receive proper medical care, including alteration, vaccinations, and microchipping.
Following a thorough screening, our animals are placed in loving, responsible, committed forever homes. PupStarz Rescue ensures that adoptions are an appropriate match for both the animal and their new family by educating prospective adopters about the responsibilities and costs of bringing a furry companion into their lives.
We are committed to the welfare of our "Starz" beyond the adoption process. We maintain open communication with our adopters to ensure a smooth transition, and offer additional support such as positive training techniques.
Founded in 2015, PupStarz Rescue is a non-profit, 501(c)3, no-kill, animal rescue organization.
