My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Doddle!

Doddle came in with her 3 sisters, and they are all now searching for their purrfect forever homes! They have been living in a foster home for the past while, and have all become quite the social butterflies!

Doddle is a very sweet and energetic little girl! She loves to play with her sisters, or she's fine on her own too. She likes the occasional belly rub as well, and will snuggle up next to you when she's ready for her big kitten naps.

Kittens need lots of attention and a safe environment for them to grow into great pets. Raising a kitten is a big commitment but well worth it when you consider they will be a part of your family for up to 20 years.

If you are interested in sweet Doddle, please submit an application to the Shuswap branch through the link below!

The BC SPCA is a non-profit organization dedicated to protecting and enhancing the quality of life for domestic, farm and wild animals in British Columbia. Through its locations and operations across the province the BC SPCA provides emergency medical care and sheltering for more than 37,000 animals each year. The society also conducts more than 4,600 cruelty investigations and provides a wide range of advocacy and education programs for domestic, farm and wild animals through its Provincial Office.

Our mission, vision and charter is at the heart of all we do to rescue, protect and care for animals. It is also the driving force behind our animal welfare and education programs.

Our Charter:

The BC SPCA Charter is the foundation that guides the work we do:

Whereas:

The world is inhabited by many species sharing a common ecosystem of air, earth, and water. We recognize and value our interconnectedness with all animals.

Therefore:

The BC Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals is dedicated to protecting and enhancing the quality of life for the animals of the world we share.

We pledge our energies to inspire and mobilize society to create a world in which all animals, who depend on humans for their well-being, experience, as a minimum, five essential freedoms:

1. Freedom from hunger and thirst

2. Freedom from pain, injury, and disease

3. Freedom from distress

4. Freedom from discomfort

5. Freedom to express behaviours that promote well-being.
