Red is 18 years old and is in excellent health. I adopted him when he was four months old. He has been extremely shy his entire life and has minimal to no contact with people. He's not aggressive with people; he just keeps to himself. He is happy on his own in a cozy place.
For many years, he and my other cat were very happy together, but a few years ago, he started fighting with her. When they would fight, he would also pee, which was not great. We tried several medicinal and behavioral therapies without success. Recently, he has lived in the basement while our other cat, who is more social, has stayed upstairs.
We are moving to a new home where we won't have the space to separate them, and perhaps he could have a better quality of life in a house without another cat.
