Staff notes - This girl is the BEST! She is so well mannered and obedient and she gets along with everyone she meets! She loves to give her paw and is a food motivated sweetheart. She’s great on the leash, seems potty trained, and is very quiet and calm in her kennel. She quickly became a staff favorite at the shelter because of her wonderful personality, obedience skills, & gorgeous looks too.
Bio - Cashmere is a loving, well-mannered and smart dog who loves to give paw and get belly rubs. This affectionate pup is an A+ dog who knows basic obedience and commands. Cashmere is a social star who loves everyone she meets and is very quiet in her kennel. She loves other dogs and would do well in a multi-dog household. Cashmere loves going on walks and playing with her human friends. She may be an adult, but she's got a heart full of love and a playful spirit that will keep you on your toes! - If upon meeting the dog of your choosing at your scheduled pickup time you find that you aren't a good match, your deposit will be fully refunded.
- Adoption fees include vaccines up until time of adoption, microchip, spay/neuter and 1st 30 days of free Pet insurance. We are not affiliated with Pet First pet insurance. (you have to sign up for the insurance or it will not go into effect). Adoption fees help cover the medical care of the animals while he or she waits for a new home, as well as food and transportation costs. These fees help to provide care for the other animals in the shelter or rescue group who may have medical bills that are much higher than any possible adoption fee. The money also acts as a donation to help support the organization as a whole, allowing the group to continue its efforts to rescue and rehome pets.
- The dogs in our care are fostered in Colorado, Texas, and New Mexico. While all dogs are picked up during our scheduled times, sometimes transport dates change due to unforeseen circumstances.

- Breed labels are a "best guess" by a shelter veterinarian and cannot be guaranteed.
- A new study has concluded that (in layman's terms), breed assumption is NOT indicative of behavior in mixed breed dogs. Therefore, if a dog looks presumably to be a German Shepherd breed, one cannot assume the dog will have a high prey drive. From the study: "Although many physical traits were associated with breeds, behavior was much more variable among individual dogs. In general, physical trait heritability was a greater predictor of breed but was not necessarily a predictor of breed ancestry in mutts. Among behavioral traits, biddability—how well dogs respond to human direction—was the most heritable by breed but varied significantly among individual dogs.
