Hello there! My name is Marco, and I am a 2-year-old miniature Australian Shepherd.
I may be small, but I have a heart full of love and a gentle, sweet nature. Let me tell you a bit about my journey. I was bought as a puppy by a family who wanted a guard dog. Unfortunately, they didn’t realize just how tiny I would be. When they saw that I wasn’t going to grow into a large protector, they abandoned me in front of a shelter.
It broke my heart to see my family leave me behind, but I try to stay positive. I am grateful to have a roof over my head and a safe place to stay, especially since the streets where I come from are dangerous for little dogs like me.
Life at the shelter has been okay. I’ve made some wonderful furry friends and I love the humans here. Their attention and affection make my days brighter. Sadly, my original dad was not the nicest guy and as a result, I can be a little bit nervouse around men and require slow introduction.I dream of having my very own forever family someday, one that will love and care for me as much as I will for them. I imagine myself with my own bed, squeaky toys, and going on fun walks and hikes.
Running after a ball and meeting new friends sounds like the best adventure ever!
I’m a smart boy who listens well and learns quickly. I love to impress my humans and have been told that I don’t show any aggression or resource guarding. I just want to spread happiness with doggie kisses and joyful tail wags.

Although a 1-on-1 trainer is often not needed, it is good to have someone in mind in case any problematic behaviours arise. Most bad behaviours can be modified if caught early enough, so make sure to nip undesirable behaviours in the bud before they become serious problems.
Basic training should be taken seriously, but should not begin until your dog is well settled in - at least a couple of weeks. After you feel your new dog is relaxed and comfortable in their new home, check out training courses in your local area. Even basic beginner courses like those taught at a local pet store can have a huge benefit in helping your dog learn to socialize and get used to being in public situations, all with the added benefit of strengthening their bond with you.
The age and breed of a dog is usually an educated guess, so we are not able to guarantee the accuracy of age or breed of our dogs.
