Could you use more laughter in your life? More silliness and sweetness? Then meet Declan, who is just so happy to be here that he will joyfully (and accidentally) roll right off the couch and into your heart! Declan enjoys the simple things in life - friends, family, toys, and food. He considers any creature a soon to be bestie, and he has loved being in foster families with cats and other dogs. A true pittie at heart, Declan prefers pups who reciprocate his enthusiastic play style. Don't worry; is also equally enthusiastic about settling down with a bone, a blanket, and some serious snuggles. Declan is a true connoisseur of life's many activities. Speaking of activities, Declan would love to keep your family company on each one. When that isn't possible, this good boy will settle in his crate during the day and at night without a peep. Such a good apartment pal! To help this tiny land seal become his best, he'll need a patient family who will maintain rules, structure, and boundaries. He will need owners who can guide him as he learns more manners and not to bombard new dogs and kiddos with all his love all at once. He'll be very happy to work on his impulse control and leash skills if there are treats involved! This goofy, young-spirited social butterfly is looking to make his forever family just as happy as he is. Rolling off the couch with him is encouraged but not required!

More about this rescue

Our mission at Last Hope K9 Rescue is to save every possible dog we can from being euthanized within high-volume kill shelters throughout the U.S.

As the literal “last hope” of nearly every animal we serve, we work tirelessly to place each one within a stable, loving environment that can act as either their forever home, or the gateway to their forever home. We also strive to ensure that all of our adoptions and foster placements are the optimal fit for everyone involved, including our dogs. This leads to our second goal: enriching human lives through canine companionship. To us, you can’t have one without the other.

Lastly, we promote animal welfare by lobbying important initiatives that both protect and give voice to the voiceless. By fostering an environment of collaboration with other organizations that share our goals, and working together instead of in competition, we find that we accomplish more.
