My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

If you're looking for a silly, playful, purry kitten, then Oberon is the right guy! Oberon has the potential to start off with a sassy attitude when you first meet him. (Though who doesn't love a little, fierce kitten that you can't take seriously?) However, he is quick to drop the "tough guy" act and will be begging for your attention rather quickly!

Oberon has been really opening up in his foster home. This guy can turn on the motor and PURR. He enthusiastically runs up to his foster parents and follows them around for attention -demanding all the back scratches. He definitely loves his wet food and various treats. He warmed up pretty quickly to his new surroundings with a consistent routine and associating that spending time with his foster parents means he gets food! Oberon loves a good bribe, and he is sweet and loyal to anyone who can spoil him with snacks! He has spent a good bit of time cuddling next to his foster people, so he has the potential to become a big snuggle bug!

He loves to playfully bat at wand toys. Feathers or bells really catch his interest! Oberon will very skillfully stand on his back legs and gently tap at whatever he's playing with. Since he can be on the timid side with new things, he may need some time to warm up to a new household. We think he would do best with another cat that can play with him and show him the ropes, or he could be potentially adopted with one of his foster friends! Since he's younger he has the potential to do well with cat-savvy dogs, with proper introductions. Since Oberon gets a little scared with sudden movement or loud noise, he might do better in an adult home or in a home with older children who can give him the space to adjust to a new environment. Oberon had a bit of a rough start to life, he is very ready to kick back and enjoy his new life with a loving forever family!

Oberon is about four months old. He has been neutered, dewormed, microchipped, vaccinated, flea treated, and has tested FIV/FeLV-. Are you that special person for this sweet boy? Please apply today!

Their adoption process

1.

Submit Application

Typically we talk a little with potential adopters to find a cat who is a good fit before sharing the application.

2.

Approve Application

We check over the application including checking vet references and doing landlord checks.

3.

Interview

We spend more time chatting with the adopters to specifically go over any questions from the application and details about the specific cat.

4.

Meet the Pet

Potential adopters have a meet and greet with the cat or kitten in the foster home.

5.

Sign Adoption Contract

At the meet and greet, if all goes well, the adoption contract can be signed, the fee can be paid, and the pet can go home!

6.

Pay Fee

7.

Take the Pet Home

Additional adoption info

We try to do our best to make sure we find good fitting, responsible homes, without wasting a lot of our time. Our app has a lot of screening questions which help eliminate potential adopters who might not be serious (they usually just don't return the app), or not a good fit, which is why the in depth interview happens once the app is returned.

More about this rescue

We are a small but dedicated 501c3 nonprofit cat rescue specializing in making one person's garbage kitten another person's forever cat.

Our mission is to reduce feline suffering and overpopulation using a combination of TNR and adoptions. We foster and socialize whenever we have the resources to do so, including behavioral cats and kittens who might otherwise just be candidates for TNR.
