My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Callisto is such a sweet guy looking for his perfect people. He is unique since he looks like an all white cat whose back end fell into some ink. Who doesn't love a dipstick tail and black dots?! Callisto originally started out as a shy boy, but that is not the case anymore! He LOVES attention, and he's usually the first one in the group to greet people coming into his room. Callisto absolutely loves love, and he will flop over on his back to show you his belly to beg for attention. He can even get a little jealous when he sees his foster friends are getting attention, and he will push himself between you and the other kitty with a head bump and body rub. He is saying "pick me, pick me!". He likes to cuddle, and his foster parents can imagine him curling up on you while you watch a movie or read a book.

Callisto enjoys his wet food as a treat. He looks forward to his foster parents opening the closet door and excitedly paces and lets out tiny little meows when he hears the cans open. He is sweet and loyal to anyone who can spoil him with snacks! He also enjoys dried treats and takes them gently from his foster parent's hands! Callisto loves to play with wand toys, especially if there are feathers attached to the end. He loves a good chase and jumps into the air to try to catch the feather "prey". Callisto is well rounded and also enjoys the calmer things in life - like sitting in a big open window to sunbathe and watch the world go by.

Since he is still a young man with tons of kitten energy, we think he would do best with another cat that can play, cuddle with him, and show him the ropes, or he could be potentially adopted with one of his foster friends! Since he's younger he has the potential to do well with cat-savvy dogs, with proper introductions. Callisto has met children in a variety of age ranges! He adores his foster human's toddler and is very gentle and sweet with her. Callisto has had an outing to Petco and was a very good boy for his showing. Since Callisto is used to the unpredictability of a toddler, he has the potential to do well in a home with children. Callisto had a bit of a rough start to life. He is very ready to kick back and enjoy his new life with a loving forever family!

Callisto is about six months old. He has been neutered, dewormed, microchipped, vaccinated, flea treated, and has tested FIV/FeLV-. Are you that special person for this sweet, loving boy? Please apply today!

Their adoption process

1.

Submit Application

Typically we talk a little with potential adopters to find a cat who is a good fit before sharing the application.

2.

Approve Application

We check over the application including checking vet references and doing landlord checks.

3.

Interview

We spend more time chatting with the adopters to specifically go over any questions from the application and details about the specific cat.

4.

Meet the Pet

Potential adopters have a meet and greet with the cat or kitten in the foster home.

5.

Sign Adoption Contract

At the meet and greet, if all goes well, the adoption contract can be signed, the fee can be paid, and the pet can go home!

6.

Pay Fee

7.

Take the Pet Home

Additional adoption info

We try to do our best to make sure we find good fitting, responsible homes, without wasting a lot of our time. Our app has a lot of screening questions which help eliminate potential adopters who might not be serious (they usually just don't return the app), or not a good fit, which is why the in depth interview happens once the app is returned.

More about this rescue

We are a small but dedicated 501c3 nonprofit cat rescue specializing in making one person's garbage kitten another person's forever cat.

Our mission is to reduce feline suffering and overpopulation using a combination of TNR and adoptions. We foster and socialize whenever we have the resources to do so, including behavioral cats and kittens who might otherwise just be candidates for TNR.
