My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Sex: Female

Breed: Terrier x

Estimated Date of Birth : 08/28/2012

It’s hard to be scared and uncertain of the world but that’s exactly what poor Daisy is. So much change suddenly to the life she once knew and it’s going to take time and patience to build that trust. We are thankful Daisy landed a spot in an amazing foster home where she’s just starting to trust but shy dogs ultimately need committed adopters where they can build trust over a lifetime. The shy dogs given that chance are almost always the most loyal and devoted of dogs. Someone gave them the chance they needed and they will spend forever thanking that individual for the gift they were given.

Daisy was part of a group of 13 senior dogs who lost their long time rescuer when she went on hospice. She was no longer able to care for her animals and they all needed a soft place to land. All 13 are now in foster care with us and waiting for loving forever homes. Daisy is one of the most uncertain of the group. Change is scary and she needs a patient and committed adopter willing to give her the time she needs to feel comfortable and secure. She needs a special home willing to go at her pace and not overwhelm her as she learns and grows.

Daisy would prefer a calm and quiet home with respectful dogs. She prefers not to have other dogs crowd into her space and she’d prefer to not feel the need to protect her resources. She’s painfully shy in new situations and with new people. So shy she’ll sometimes bark due to her insecurities. She doesn’t love being picked up and leash walking makes her very nervous. Daisy needs an adopter willing to put in the work to build her trust. A home without children. A home willing to love her even though she may not initially be affectionate and social. We know her adopter is out there and we hope we find that perfect person willing to give her a chance.
