My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

What my friends at ACC say about me:

I have medical needs that staff will address with you when you meet me.

I love getting pets and - you guessed it - snuggles!

I'm ready to learn! I need a patient person who has the time to work on training with me.

I have lived with cats.

My Current Foster writes:
Max is the ultimate sweetheart! He loves everyone he meets and wants to be friends with them all, dogs and people alike. This little guy is such a sweetie and will make the best cuddly companion for someone who likes to hang out at home and go to the park. He will take over your personal space and love you infinitely, and he already knows how to work the puppy dog eyes.

My former foster writes: Meet Max, a sweet and lovable 6-year-old good boy looking for a special forever home. Max is a charming little guy with a heart of gold who thrives on one-on-one attention. While Max prefers to be the only pet and needs a calm environment without young children, he's full of love to give to the right person. Max loves going on long walks but is also into snuggling up on the couch for cozy cuddle sessions. He is into butt scratches, playing with his squeaky toys, and tennis balls. Max loves apples, eggs and sweet potato. Max is looking for an active individual who can match his energy and provide plenty of love, understanding, and adventure. Come meet him today and see how he can brighten your life with endless kisses

My #BoroughBreak Buddy Writes: We absolutely fell in love with Max - if it were not for our two cats, we would have taken him home in a heartbeat. He warmed up to us immediately, and happily walked in central park for miles. He has lots of energy to get out, and seemed to especially love the opportunity to run up stairs or hills, or sprint across a field with us. When we all got tired, he laid on a blanket in the park with us and snuggled up, taking lots of belly rubs. He was sweet to us and everyone he met - lots of folks asked to pet him and he did great with everybody, making many friends throughout the day. Despite the warning on his info sheet, we did not see him lunge at another dog or a child all day. He had some slight leash pulling (but pretty manageable given his size) and when we had been sitting for too long, he started gnawing on his leash a little bit, but he just needed to get moving again. He did not bark or growl all day, just made sweet excited whines when he was ready to go. He clearly will do well with an active owner/outdoor space to move about freely. I can't say enough wonderful things about him and how lucky his future family will be.
