My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

I love to be loved, but on my own terms! Let's brush up on some feline body language together!

I prefer to call the shots and enjoy coming to you when I'm ready for pets.

I am playful and cute!

I am excitable and energetic! I will need positive outlets for my energy!

I'm ready to learn! I need a patient person who has the time to work on training with me.

Mochi interacts with the observer, appreciates attention, and tolerates all petting. Adopters and be well counseled in feline body language, overstimulation, rough play, and very high energy. Due to prior owner history and a bite/scratch history, we feel that this cat will do best in an experienced adult-only cat parent home.

A volunteer writes: Mochi just got promoted to Care Center manager. Congratulations, Mochi! He promoted himself but since he's balancing several projects, we can understand why this fell into his lap. Mochi works to be present in each of his assignments and is often found walking between his cubby and his condo trying to figure things out, the next steps, if you will. He also spends a fair amount of time reaching his paws through his condo door and though he has a paw in every pot, he appreciates any help he can get. Mochi's looking to find a forever family. He knows he's a busy guy who likes to do a lot of things, but surely there's a family who loves to play and make up games, someone who understands that even the most playful and outgoing kitties need a whole lot of patience and love too. Mochi wanted me to add that he's also accepting applications for someone who can hold the stick end of the feather wand. It's his favorite but he's too little to hold it with his paws and run after the feather at the same time. See Mochi and apply within.
