Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
Trinket is a 4 month old Australian Shepherd mix, (mom is a PB Aussie, dad is unknown) who will need to be spayed at the age appropriate time. She is on flea/tick/heartworm prevention, and has her Rabies and 6 month Bordetella shots, as well as all her puppy shots.
Trinket is a fun, loving, friendly, and full of spunk. She LOVES people and will require plenty more training especially in the potty department. She is getting better with it, she just can't hold it as long as she'd like to. She is crate trained but does better with a chew in her cage.
She can be a handful but is sweet and willing to learn, loves to use her nose to find things to eat. And enjoys using snuffle mats. She loves playing in water, with other puppies, and older dogs. She can be a digger but is easily redirected if you're watching her. She also has what her foster mom calls punchy paws, where she likes to greet you with her paws and do just about everything with them. She will also need a lot more work on the leash, she's good just needs training. She's also a lawn mower in the fact she loves to eat grass while outside.
She is scared of cats, but still curious, typically won't chase them especially if they're used to dogs and don't run. She likes to watch horses but doesn't have a huge interest in following them along the fence line. Not sure how she would do with children but I imagine she may knock down little ones down and lick them. She doesn't have a mean bone in her body.
She knows sit, lay down, paw, stay, and is learning leave it. She's quick to learn new commands, and very food motivated. She is still in the puppy play stage so she's still learning not to puppy play with humans in the same way as other puppies and still gives play nibbles here and there but she's a good girl.
She's a good passenger in the car but loves to chew things so she'll need to be tethered and have some chew toys in the car until the chew faze is over. She tends to whine a little out of boredom but sops after a while.
Requirements:
* Fenced yard
* Meet and greet
* More training
* A home that will fix her at the age
appropriate time
* dog or dogs who are great with puppies because she loves to give other dogs kisses and loves to play

More about this rescue
Nancy Gonzalez, founder and CEO, created Australian Shepherds Furever (ASF), a non-profit organization to promote the educated adoption and rescue of the Australian Shepherd (Aussie) dog breed.
In July of 2012, ASF initiated as a Facebook page hoping to have 1,000 user "likes" by the end one year. The page quickly outgrew expectations, now with a network of nearly 87,000 individuals striving to provide aid and refuge to Aussies all over the country.
Using the Facebook page as a platform, the website www.australianshepherdsfurever.org was developed as an additional resource aimed at educating the public on this intelligent and beautiful breed. It provides resources for those seeking help, or those willing to contribute to the Adopt, Save, Foster (ASF) philosophy. Through this philosophy, ASF has saved the lives of countless dogs and helped to provide assistance to those that have nowhere else to turn.
We as humans have a responsibility to speak up and take action in favor of those beings that are less fortunate. Thanks to a team of passionate and proactive volunteers, Aussies nationwide are given a chance at a better life through Australian Shepherds Furever.
