My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Age:3-4

Weight: 36

Location: New Hope, PA

Nicknames:

Good with other dogs?: Yes, Dog selective.
Cher, like most bullies, will test the waters at first but is not dog aggressive, she is just a bully :) She will not be placed with a female dog but has been besties with males.

Good with cats? unknown, will not be adopted to a home with a cat

Good with children? unknown, will not be adopted to a home with kids under 10, OK for kids over: 15

Activity Preference: Needs in-house activities, Up for a long hike any day., Low maintenance overall but needs quality outside time.

IQ: Has some shining moments

Cher's favorite things: Cher loves attention, snuggling, breakfast, dinner and treats.

Cher is good at: meeting people, meeting dogs, staying in a crate, going for car rides, walking on a leash, cuddling

Ideal home: someone at home most of the day, a fenced yard

Training Needs: potty training

Health issues: Cher has been spayed and has had a huge hernia repaired. She was obviously been bred but never again. She is gaining weight and her old scars are healing.

Meet Cher

Cher is darling and full of spunk. She is friendly and sassy, bossy and bold and I think she knows that she is adorbs. She is great on walks and perfect on a leash, she greets dogs on walks with pride and personality. She walks with her head up high. We are not sure of her past but can say that she was probably a breeder's dog, as you can see if the photos. Cher is 85% house trained but will occasionally mark in her crate. She is calm and quiet in her crate and is getting better at peeing outside. Sometimes you need to stand outside with her a bit longer than usual. Overall she will bring joy and happiness into your life by just being Cher.

PLEASE READ: Adopters will not be considered without completing an application. Please visit www.AmericanBulldogRescue.org to apply! Remember - Adoption is always the best option! If you can't help by adopting a homeless pet, please consider making a tax-deductible donation to American Bulldog Rescue, 4 Terry Drive, Suite 1D Newtown, PA 18940 or paypal AmericanBulldogRescue@verizon.net. We cannot place dogs in homes with children under 10 unless that dog has lived with kids or is in a foster home with kids. Thank you.

To be considered for adoption, you must apply using our free, online application. Our dogs are fostered in our volunteers' homes, not in a central shelter/location. Only approved applicants are put into contact with the foster family to setup a meeting with the foster dog. Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

To adopt one of our love-a-bull dogs, you must submit an application on our website at www.americanbulldogrescue.org. Applications must meet minimum requirements (policies are listed our site). Applicants have their vet and personal references checked . The next step is a home visit by one of our volunteers. Finally, the applicant will be put in touch with the foster family to arrange to meet the dog! If a happy match is made, the applicants sign an adoption contract and provide an adoption donation. The donation is usually $400.

Go meet their pets

Adoption events will be posted on our Facebook page. Our foster dogs live in homes with our volunteers. We do not have a facility where interested people can visit the dogs. If you are interested in meeting any of our dogs, please submit an adoption application available on our website.
