My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Dorothy is available for adoption in a foster home. If you're interested
in adopting, please email us at sdcadoptions@sdhumane.org or call us at 619 299 7012.

How this pet arrived:
Dorothy was brought in by a community member on 8/24/2024.

Why this pet is the one for you:
Meet Dorothy! This adorable sweet girl just loves to spend time with you! She loves to get scratches and pets while she's enjoying her treats right next to you. Her tail is constantly wagging! Dorothy has adapted quickly to her foster home just as she will to her new home. She will want lots of space because she is a sizable lady. And, she loves water. Bathtime will be like playtime with Dorothy. This friendly sweetheart just needs a new loving home. If you are interested in meeting Dorothy, contact us and we will make arrangements.

At SDHS:
Dorothy has been vaccinated, microchipped and spayed/neutered and is now ready for her new home!

More about this shelter

San Diego Humane Society, an open-admission shelter, is creating a more humane world by inspiring compassion and advancing the welfare of animals and people. Our lifesaving safety net has helped San Diego become the largest city in the U.S. to keep healthy and treatable shelter animals from being euthanized. We are a private, independent, nonprofit organization that is not affiliated with any other humane society or society for the prevention of cruelty to animals.

With campuses in El Cajon, Escondido, Oceanside, Ramona and San Diego, we provide animal services for 14 cities within San Diego County. We not only care for 50,000 animals in our communities but also share the expertise we have gained through our innovative programs with shelters nationwide so they can save more lives in their communities.

While our influence is expanding nationally, our top priority is meeting the needs of San Diego. We provide exceptional care for all animals through world-class veterinary medicine, shelter and most of all: love.
