Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
Ace is such a very good boy! He's a sweet, intelligent, beautiful black German Shepherd, about 6 years old, who is looking for his forever family.
Ace was originally adopted through a rescue in California who saved him from a high-kill shelter, and he is now living in Boulder. His current guardian is unable to keep him and is now searching for a safe and loving home for him.
Ace is neutered, microchipped and up to date on all of his shots including Bordetella. He's housetrained (he's never had an accident), loves his crate, and he's perfectly well-mannered at home.
Ace will politely lay nearby while you eat and never beg for your table scraps. He loves belly rubs, car rides, chasing rabbits and he especially loves to play fetch outside with his oversized squeaky balls. He knows most basic commands, and is eager to learn more. He does have anxiety during severe thunderstorms and during fireworks, so it’s best to be home with him to offer him security during those events.
Ace loves your affection and attention, but he is not needy. He is very friendly to people, although he will definitely let you know when someone is at the door!
Ace has spent time with kids ages 11 to 14 and would probably be great with younger, respectful children, too. He has been fine with other dogs when properly introduced and acclimated to them, but he is aggressive to dogs he doesn't know. Due to his love of the chase, Ace should not be placed in a home with cats or other small pets. He is accustomed to being around horses and would probably do well around other livestock as well.
Check out Ace on a cute video clip on our Summit Dog Rescue website: https://www.summitdogrescue.org/meet-ace-cp.html
Ace is a wonderful companion and would do well with a person who has a large backyard and the type of schedule that permits quality time to spend with him. For more info and/or to apply to adopt Ace, please call 818-371-8027 or email immanuel222@att.net. Thanks.

If everyone agrees this is a good match, the board approves the adoption.

Additional adoption info
First you must fill out an application which we will review. Then we will do a phone interview, reference check and finally a home visit before a dog is placed in your home. We ONLY adopt to homes where the dog is an indoor dog, part of the family and treated as such. We stress excellent nutrition, proper training and follow up with all our adopters.
We are probably have one of the more thorough and difficult adoption processes... and we love that people want to adopt and don't want to discourage adopters! So please, if you're in a hurry, or not an exceptional furever home - please try other rescues or a SHELTER is a great option too!
