For Adopt a Pet and the PEDIGREE® brand, October is all about finding homes for dogs in shelters. Adopt this month for a PEDIGREE® Wet Food Pouch and a chance to win a Homecoming-style photo shoot and shelter donation.
If you see pets listed by a private owner, it means that they’re adoptable through Adopt a Pet’s Rehome program – the safe and reliable way to find a loving new home for your pet.
Osita will be 10 in December. She spent the majority of her life as an outdoor dog until she was rehomed to me in January 2023. Unfortunately, I need to rehome Osita due to busy time availability and having to address my ESA's recent fearful aggressive behaviors. Osita's temperament is mellow and she sleeps the majority of the day. When I leave, both dogs are left home with free access, and Osita has never engaged in destructive behavior. She looks forward to walks/hikes. She does have a high prey drive and needs to be told to leave it if she sees a cat during walks. She will mostly cry, but is easily redirected. She is great with other dogs, people, and children. Osita does not bark when someone comes to the door. When people visit the home, she will slowly approach to smell them, but she does not intrude in their personal space. When she wants affection, she will come to you. She prefers to be left alone. She is not your typical chow chow.
