Dahlia arrived at HSoP as a stray and was unfortunately never claimed by an owner. Now she's ready to find her perfect forever home!
We estimate miss Dahlia to be around 1 year old. Still a puppy on the inside, Dahlia is full of energy, life, and excitement. There's a lot we don't know about Dahlia since she arrived as a stray. For instance, we don't know if she has ever shared a home with dogs, cats, or children. We do offer a seven-day foster period with each adoption, which can help determine if it's a good fit for the whole family. We also require all dogs to meet any other canines in the home prior to leaving HSoP.
Dahlia is exactly what anyone would expect from a young lab mix. She's friendly (absolutely loves making new friends), smart (knows how to sit and take treats gently), affectionate (loves being pet!), and playful (jumps and dances around). It's clear that she has a ton of energy to burn, so Dahlia will require daily walks or access to a secure outdoor space to ensure she's getting the exercise she needs to thrive. Being a big people-dog, she would be happy to stick by your side for any outdoor adventures you have planned. We think that continued training would be great for Dahlia!
Our staff has quickly come to love Dahlia and the energetic joy she brings to each day. We know that she'll have no trouble finding a wonderful family to call her own! If you think that Dahlia sounds like the dog you've been looking for, we encourage you to visit the shelter to see if she's a match for you.
It's unclear if Dahlia is already spayed or not. She must be spayed before leaving HSoP, so she will be checked (and spayed, if needed) by our vet soon. Don't worry, Dahlia can still have visitors and accept applications in the meantime!
Visit this pretty girl and all our other adoptable dogs between 2-5pm Monday through Saturday. No appointments needed! We hope to see you soon at 2019 E White Ave Moscow, ID 83843.
Say hello to the beautiful Dahlia!

Additional adoption info
Adopters must live in a pet-friendly environment with proof from their landlord or rental agency, or proof of homeownership. We contact the landlord or rental agency of each potential adopter to confirm the animal is being adopted into a welcoming space.
We require introductions between our available dogs and any other canines living in the household prior to adoption. This helps to ensure a good fit for the whole family before taking them home.
