For Adopt a Pet and the PEDIGREE® brand, October is all about finding homes for dogs in shelters. Adopt this month for a PEDIGREE® Wet Food Pouch and a chance to win a Homecoming-style photo shoot and shelter donation.

Meet Miss Kitty!
- Sweet little 13lb girl
- 9 tall x 16 long (some pics make her look bigger)
- Nice girl and has shown no aggression.
- Merged in well with the 4 various dogs in her foster home. Follows their lead but not yet really interacting with them (only 2 days so far in foster home)
- Good house manners. Couple accidents initially but learning routine quickly.
- Eats well in crate.
- First night some quiet whimpers in crate. *Foster mom spoils and she sleeps comfy in bed

What breed am I? Mixed mutt! ODHS does not breed label (unless there's official paperwork), as studies show it is nearly impossible to tell the exact breed of each dog based off of their appearance.
Adoption Donations are $275 for an adult, $375 for puppies (a dog under one year of age), and $175 for a senior dog (based on the age of the dog). More "sought out breeds may have a higher adoption donation) Adoption donations are to be made via cash, or credit/debit card. There is a $5 fee to run cards. We do not accept checks for adoption fees.
Please remember to bring a martingale collar and leash (non-retractable) with you the day of the adoption.
We typically have adoption events on Wednesdays 5-7pm, Fridays 6-8pm, and 11 to 3pm. Our adoption center is located at 3602 Lafayette Blvd, Suite 101, Fredericksburg, VA 22408. It's important that you keep an eye on your emails for any changes or updates during the adoption process.
Old Dominion Humane Society is a volunteer based organization. We are run completely by volunteers, who also have full time jobs, so we appreciate your patience. Currently, the average timeframe for a response to your application is 1 week.
