Meet our Man in Black, Johnny Cash! Johnny is a laid back guy with a heart of gold. Everyone is Johnny’s best friend from the moment he meets them. Johnny doesn’t ask for much, but he is looking for a home with a cozy bed to lay on, and an abundance of toys to chew on. 

Johnny is currently being fostered in a home with two other dogs, three cats, and three children, and gets along great with everyone! We think he is best suited for kids 6+, simply because he is still learning to take treats gently, and like most adolescents, he doesn’t have the best body awareness. 

Johnny is about 90% potty trained - he’s only had one accident in his foster home, but isn’t quite to the point where he is asking to go out on his own. He would benefit from continued structure and a solid routine in this area.  

Johnny walks wonderfully on leash and will sit politely for treats or affection. He allows handling all over and is great for baths. Johnny would likely make a great dog to take along to breweries and patios - he’s confident and more than happy to lay at your feet, solicit pets, and watch the world go by. 

A star athlete he is not, but Johnny loves to chase a ball for a few minutes before heading back inside for a snooze. He’s more than content with a short walk or two for exercise (his short little legs mean his walk is more of an amble), and would be a great city dog. 

Johnny can be adopted solo or with his girlfriend June.
