PEEPS NEEDS A FOREVER HOME!!!!
Come meet Peeps and other great adoptable dogs this Sunday (Nov. 24th) from 12-3 pm at the Petsmart in Silver Spring (12020 Cherry Hill Rd, Silver Spring, MD 20904)!
Name: Peeps Best Guess for Breed: Lab/Jack Russell Terrier
Best Guess for Age: 9 months as of 09/07/2024 SEX: Female
Approximate Weight: 30 pounds as of 09/07/2024
Gets Along With: Other dogs! We have tested Peeps with some of the cats at the shelter, and she did not seem particularly interested in chasing or pouncing on the cat. While this is a positive sign that Peeps could live with a cat, she has not done so to our knowledge. If you have cats in your home, we are happy to discuss with you how to best introduce a new pup to your pack!!
Currently Living at: DC area boarding partner
Special adoption considerations: After being rescued from the streets, Peeps was very scared and shut down. However, she have been making great strides. Peeps would do best with either a resident dog or a family who can make sure she can go on walks regularly with other dogs, visit the dog park, or go to doggie daycare to continue to build her confidence.
Peeps is Looking For: Hola!! I'm Peeps, and I am a Sato. Satos are Puerto Rican street dogs, and we are amazing dogs. I am one of a litter of five - Padma, Panda, Patty, Peeps - who all came up from a Puerto Rico shelter to find our forever homes here. I am smart, resourceful, a little mischievous, and if you adopt me, I will be FOREVER grateful. You see, I was living on the streets and that's not easy. I didn't have a home, or anyone feeding me regularly. But I am smart, and I was resourceful (and just a teensy bit mischievous) and I survived and was rescued by some amazing people, and now I've got my chance for my freedom flight -- and to find my forever family! I'm really excited!! I would just love to have my own bed, some delicious and nutritious kibble (maybe twice a day??), some trips to the dog park, some sniffy walks, and to curl up on your couch with you and watch some tv at the end of the day. And in return, I will give you so much love -- because I know what it's like to not have those things, and I'm never going to forget that you gave them to me. Never ever ever. I promise. And I'm just going to be mischievous enough that you are going to say 'Look at my Sato!! How smart she is and how lucky am I to have her!!'
What My Foster Says About Me: Peeps is doing really well! She does well in her crate, and sleeps through the night. She plays really well with my dogs and while she's a little shy meeting new people she is starting to come out of her shell. She is working on her house manners, like all young dogs, but she's making good progress and she takes corrections well. We are also working on some basic commands. She's a really sweet girl who will make a great addition to any family!!
Lucky Dog cannot guarantee any dog is housebroken. All of our dogs are working on their crate training.
TO ADOPT: The adoption fee for this dog is $460, which includes the cost of routine vetting, including vaccinations and spay/neuter. If you are interested in adopting, please complete the Adoption Questionnaire online at bit.ly/adoptaluckydog .
Lucky Dog Animal Rescue does our best to provide accurate information about the dogs we have for adoption. That said, we cannot make any guarantees about age, breed or temperament.
