PLUTO NEEDS A FOREVER HOME!!!!
Name: Pluto Best Guess for Breed: Retriever and shepherd mix
Best Guess for Age: 1.5 years as of September 2024 SEX: Male
Approximate Weight: 44 lbs
Gets Along With: Other dogs! We haven't seen him with kids or cats but he can be tested
Currently Living at: DC area foster home
Check out this video of Pluto: https://youtu.be/bhjRSnsxSFM.
Special adoption considerations: Because Pluto is shy, he needs to go to a home with a confident, welcoming resident dog. We would be cautious placing Pluto in a home with children under 12 years old because young kids can often scare shy dogs with their level of energy or noise. Children would need to be supervised closely to not leave doors open and should never walk the dog without an adult holding the leash. We would be happy to discuss this more in depth with any applicant.
Pluto is Looking For: His forever home! This sweet young guy is pretty awesome. He's eager to have his own humans but well, where he comes from - Vieques, Puerto Rico - there are just way too many dogs and not enough homes. So - the DC area it is for him! He's looking forward to burning all his great young-dog energy - learning all the smells in his new environment on long sniffy walks (see the video here - he's such a good boy and he loves to sniff!), going on romps in parks, and exploring the world with his new family. Making new pup pals along the way sounds great to him too. But most of all he just wants to be safe and loved, to know where he belongs - and to know who's going to get all the adoring gazes and tail wags he's stockpiling.
What do you say? Is Pluto the one you see by your side?
What My Foster Says About Me: Pluto is an incredibly sweet, loyal, and cuddly pup. He started out a little shy when we first got him, but has really come into his own and is now very social with other people and dogs. He is great on the leash, and rarely, if ever, barks. It took a little while to get him comfortable with the crate, but will now go right in and sleep through the night in the crate. He also loves running at the dog park and snuggling up to his humans.
Lucky Dog cannot guarantee any dog is housebroken. All of our dogs are working on their crate training.
TO ADOPT: The adoption fee for this dog is $460, which includes the cost of routine vetting, including vaccinations and spay/neuter. If you are interested in adopting, please complete the Adoption Questionnaire online at bit.ly/adoptaluckydog .
Lucky Dog Animal Rescue does our best to provide accurate information about the dogs we have for adoption. That said, we cannot make any guarantees about age, breed or temperament.
