WINDY NEEDS A FOREVER HOME!!!!

Name:  Windy        Best Guess for Breed: Some type of wire haired terrier mix!

Best Guess for Age:  7 months as of 9/28/24        SEX:  Female

Approximate Weight: 18 lbs as of 9/18/24; she is still growing!

Gets Along With:   Other dogs! Windy has lived in a foster home with a cat and was respectful in her interactions. She has not lived with kids.

Currently Living at:  DC area foster home!

Special adoption considerations:    After being rescued from the streets, she was scared and shut down. However, she has been making great strides. We think Windy would do best with either a resident dog or a family who can make sure she can go on walks regularly with other dogs, visit the dog park, or go to doggie daycare to continue to build confidence.

Windy is Looking For:   Hiya! I'm Windy. I hail from a Puerto Rico shelter, where I didn't get to see enough of the world. I'm not long out of puppyhood and I want my own humans for long sniffy walks and romps in the park and all the adventures they can dream up. I want to make pup and people pals. I want to shine as an A+ student in dog school! But most of all I want to know where I belong, that I'm safe and loved, and upon whom to bestow my giant stockpile of adoring gazes and happy tail wags and cuddles.

What do you say? Am I the companion you've been seeking?

What My Foster Says About Me: She’s adorable, loving, playful and goofy!! She is working on both crate and potty training. She enjoys meeting  people. She is doing well with leash training. She enjoys playing with dogs. She is very food motivated!

Lucky Dog cannot guarantee any dog is housebroken.  All of our dogs are working on their crate training.

TO ADOPT:      The adoption fee for this dog is $460, which includes the cost of routine vetting, including vaccinations and spay/neuter. If you are interested in adopting, please complete the Adoption Questionnaire online   at   bit.ly/adoptaluckydog  .

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

The adoption process begins when you submit an adoption application either online or at an adoption event. The individual responsible for the dog you are interested in adopting - a position we call the “adoption coordinator” - will then set up a time to discuss your application over the telephone. The adoption coordinator will check your vet reference to make sure all current and past pets were kept up-to-date with their shots and medical care. The adoption coordinator will also set up a home visit with one of our trained volunteers. That individual will come to your home to ensure that it is a safe environment, to confirm that everyone in the home is on board with adopting a dog, and to discuss any other questions you may have about dog adoption!

Go meet their pets

Our adoption events are held each weekend. A schedule of times and locations can be found at www.luckydoganimalrescue.org.
