Meet Johnny, a resilient 4-year-old Blackmouth Cur with a heart full of hope. Just a few weeks ago, Johnny was wandering the streets of South Phoenix, covered in painful bite wounds from a brutal attack. When he arrived at the shelter, he was just one of many dogs on the euthanasia list—one of 80 that week, overlooked for his ordinary appearance. But Johnny’s story didn’t end there.

There was something special in his eyes, a flicker of hope that told us he was worth fighting for. With mere minutes to spare, Sky Sanctuary Rescue pulled Johnny from the list, promising to give him the best chance at a new life. Since then, Johnny has completed a 4-week board and train and is now professionally trained! Johnny is now ready more than ever to start his next chapter, a true testament to survival and second chances.
