My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Roscoe, a young bundle of joy, brimming with energy and affection. He`s the life of the party, always ready to play, play, play, and jump around. He weighs 40 pounds and his energy is infectious, his spirit, indomitable. But it`s not all about play for Roscoe. He`s equally fond of quiet cuddle times, his sweet disposition making him the perfect snuggle buddy. He loves being petted. He likes car rides, agility, fetch, running, tugging, toys, walks, water, chase and wrestling. His rowdiness is just a part of his charm, a testament to his love for life and those around him. Roscoe`s friendly and affectionate nature makes him an ideal pet for an active family. His boundless energy and playful antics are sure to bring laughter and joy into any home. His playful nature makes him a perfect companion for children and other dogs. However, his high energy is leading us to require that children at least nine years old and you`ll need to bring your dog to meet him to be sure he doesn`t overwhelm it. He is still working on house training and is not a pro at leash walking, but his positive attributes more than make up for his limitations. He can learn. He already knows the sit and come commands. Roscoe is more than just a pet. He`s a friend, a confidante, and a source of unending happiness. Adopt Roscoe and bring home not just a pet, but a loyal companion and a bundle of joy. More about this shelter

Citizens For Animal Protection, founded in 1972, is committed to sheltering, rescuing, and placing homeless animals in loving homes; advocating respect and compassion for all animal life; providing humane education to prevent animal cruelty; and raising awareness in the community of the needs of animals.

CAP is proud to announce that through life-saving adoption and transfer programs and a lot of hard work, we have maintained a placement rate of over 93% for all homeless pets surrendered to our shelter in 2021. In 2021, CAP provided care for 10,260 animals; this includes animals surrendered by the public and transferred in from animal control agencies and rescue groups, animals already in the shelter and foster care program, feral cats trapped/neutered/returned and animals receiving vaccinations and other treatments in our low-cost vaccination clinic, The Cornelius Clinic.
