For Adopt a Pet and the PEDIGREE® brand, October is all about finding homes for dogs in shelters. Adopt this month for a PEDIGREE® Wet Food Pouch and a chance to win a Homecoming-style photo shoot and shelter donation.

Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Pony boy! Pony is 3 years old and was found as a stray roaming the streets of Detroit. He is a big fella weighing about 62 pounds. He is a very sweet and gentle dog who wants nothing more then to be adopted and get out of the shelter! He is a volunteer and staff favorite. He is a very good boy, who is a star in shelter school! He has learned all of his basic commands and would love to show them of to you. One of Pony's favorite things is to be loved on and receive affection. He will melt right into your arms, you will not want to leave without him! Pony does not do well with other dogs or kitties. He prefers to be the only animal in his home. He is a very good human social boy and also does well with children of any ages. We are unsure on how he would do with doggy neighbors, but we can have a chat to see if it would be a good fit or not. Pony has been up for adoption and with us for a few weeks now. That is way too long! If you would like a big, loud, loyal german shepherd, fill out an application online or just come to the shelter and ask about this handsome dude! He is a very incredibly, smart, loving boy.Thank you for showing an interest in our pets. We can never guarantee the breeds of the animals. We do not DNA test. Please feel free to call us with any questions.
