Magnetar is an independent kitten who can be calm and cuddle but also loves to play. He loves to be high on a cat tree and will seek to find the high place to watch over his family. He has been known to come to door and greet us with a Meow when we come home which is a wonderful welcome. He will want to cuddle with you or sleep next to you. He loves to look out the window. He likes to be involved with the cleaning of the litterbox and will even help when you sweep the floor with a broom. He doesn't like a vacuum cleaner noise though. His favorite toys are a tunnel, sticks with ribbon or string, mice and a plastic bag. He was more of the protector for his siblings and is a very smart kitten. Apply to meet him today!

1.
Submit Application

Review our adoption process and complete our new online pet application. If you need assistance, call us or visit our Adoption Center!

2.
Approve Application

If you have had pets in the past 10 years, we will do a vet check and we will check with your landlord or HOA that you can have the pet.

3.
Meet the Pet

Once approved, everyone in your home will need to meet the pet. Also, any existing dog will need to meet a dog you want to adopt.

4.
Sign Adoption Contract

We will ask you to sign an adoption contract and pay our adoption fee - a schedule of fees is on our website.

We have one Adoption Center at 1901 W. Ogden Ave., Downers Grove, IL. Please come in to complete our pet application or fill it out online and we will contact you to schedule an appointment to meet our awesome dogs and cats!

The West Suburban Humane Society (WSHS) is a volunteer-based, no-kill animal rescue that was founded in 1972 in the western suburbs of Chicago. WSHS now finds homes for more than 500 dogs and cats each year!

WSHS is 100% funded by individual, corporate, and private foundations donations, and has over 450 active volunteers! WSHS is caring for about 200 animals at any given time.
