My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Tabasco is a sweet and affectionate little guy, who has a gentle mannerism to him. He definitely will show off his loving and happy personality as he seeks out some loving time with his soft, continuous purring, rubbing up against your legs or cheeks and offer you a few kisses. His fun mannerisms are evident in his play, and is definitely present when he attempts to help out with your chores. He is such a joy.

In his foster home he recently started clicker training to learn how to do a variety of tricks. He can do: touch, come, circle, sit, sit-up, and wave. He has been even practicing how to speak and to give kisses on command. He is doing fairly well, but he still learning and needs more practicing. Tabasco is a fabulous little guy who is looking for a super forever home, and family who will love him and enjoy the fun activity of doing tricks with him

More about this shelter

The Cleveland Animal Protective League's mission is to foster compassion and end animal suffering. Incorporated in 1913, we are an independent, nonprofit humane society located in Cleveland's Tremont neighborhood.

As a 501(c)(3) agency, we are not funded or controlled by any government or national animal welfare organization. Our animal shelter, services, and programs are made available through fundraising, donations, foundation and corporate support, and service fees.

We are committed to 100 percent placement of adoptable animals and envision a time when every friendly, healthy, homeless animal in our community can be cared for until a new family is found.

The Cleveland APL provides shelter to homeless animals relinquished by their guardians, animals that are rescued from abuse or neglect, and stray or abandoned cats.
