Steve is a big, sweet orange boy with a heart as warm as his vibrant fur. He was found roaming outside, so much of his past is a mystery, but what we do know is that he adores human companionship. Whether it's batting at his favorite toys or enjoying a tasty meal, Steve's playful and affectionate nature always shines through. His love for food might just be the key to his heart, and he never misses an opportunity to curl up with his people after a good play session. Despite his uncertain beginnings, Steve has quickly proven himself to be a loving and devoted companion.
Now, Steve is looking for a forever home where he can truly thrive. He's ready to leave his outdoor life behind and enjoy the comforts of a cozy home, where he can be showered with attention and affection. With his easygoing temperament and love for toys and treats, Steve will make a wonderful addition to any household that can offer him the love and care he deserves. Whether he's lounging by your side or chasing after a ball, Steve is sure to bring joy and warmth to his new family.

More about this shelter
The Maryland SPCA connects wonderful pets to loving owners. We are not affiliated with any national animal organization, and we do not receive any government or United Way funding. Our mission is to prevent cruelty and neglect of animals through fostering the humane relationship between animals and people. We operate primarily in the Greater Baltimore Metropolitan area.
To make sure that our dogs and cats do not contribute to the pet overpopulation problem, every one is spayed or neutered before going into a new home. The cost is included in the adoption fee, as are the costs of shots and other necessary care. In addition, a free Positive Pooch class is available to our dog adopters.
There is no set time limit for how long an animal can remain in our adoption program. As long as an animal maintains general good health and a sound temperament, we keep him or her until adopted. We pride ourselves on providing premium care to the animals in a clean, pleasant environment. Our adoption staff works diligently to pair up adopters with the best animal match for their homes and lifestyles.
We transport animals from other shelters to our adoption center to help more animals get adopted. We also help pet owners find new homes for their pets so their animals don’t need to enter shelter care.
