Meet Kobalt!!
This beautiful and sweet puppy is the last one left from our Tool litter. He is an awesome family pup. Everyone that has adopted a sibling has been very happy with their personality and loving nature.
He is coming through a growth spurt. His extra-long legs are a bit comical. He will grow into his legs shortly lol.
Kobalt is an approx. 6 months old male. One of the siblings adopters got a DNA test done and they are purebred American Foxhounds. Their mom was about 40 pounds. The boys may end up a little larger than mom was. He is currently around 30 pounds but will gain more when he catches up to those long legs lol.
He has been given several sets of vaccines, dewormed, a microchip and is neutered.
Kobalt is a great mix of both playful and Chill. He loves to be the center of attention for all the petting and belly rubs. He will play really well with others. Playful and fun but really likes cuddles and being held. Even as he has gotten older, he still loves you to pick him up and hold him. It's really adorable.
He loves other dogs of all sizes and ages. He absolutely loves kids and does very well with them. He has not yet met any cats so we do not know how he will do with them. He does not seem to have a high prey drive but we are not sure how he would react.
Kobalt has done really well with potty training. He may have a few accidents while adjusting to a new routine and home but generally does well. He has started with leash training and overall does fairly well. He has only been on one car ride with us and he did get car sick. We think with more practice and experience he would adjust to them. He does fantastic with crate training and will sleep in the crate at night.
He has not had any trouble sharing food treats and toys with people or other dogs. He currently mostly barks when playing with other dogs. Hounds are known for being a bit vocal but so far he is not terrible about it.
Adopting a young puppy is a ton of work. They will have lots of potty accidents, chew things up etc. You will need to help them learn things like leash walking, crate training and basic manners. It can be a lot of work but the reward is a dog that fits well into your family's lifestyle if you invest proper time on training with them. Please carefully consider the time and effort a puppy requires before adopting.
This entire litter has been excellent. They have been so loving and fun to have around. Overall really amazing dogs. We cant wait for Kobalt to find his forever home!
Vet and home checks required.
Would not make a good apartment dog.
Located in Hampton VA.
(They will need to be adopted within a 2 hour drive radius)
